Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our facility, located within a hospital in Burlingame. This setting allows for collaborative consultations with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with flexible shifts available between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technologies, fostering a supportive atmosphere for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in the execution of individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility improvement techniques.
• Implement manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities to promote healing and rehabilitation.
• Instruct and educate patients on exercise regimens, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention strategies, ensuring they have the knowledge to continue their recovery journeys.
• Document patient progress accurately and consistently, utilizing EMR systems such as WebPT to track changes and modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation, fostering a positive and motivating environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the treatment areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic conditions. Our patient demographic includes a diverse mix of adults and seniors, many of whom are looking to regain mobility, strength, and independence following medical intervention. Your hands-on support will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes, making a significant difference in their recovery process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of California.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting, showcasing a proven track record of effective patient care.
• Strong knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems, with a preference for experience using WebPT.
• Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities and manual therapy techniques is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with treatment protocols for post-surgical recovery, sports rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.
• An understanding of current trends in physical therapy practices and methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
