Senior Manager, Clinical Data Systems

Senior Manager leading clinical data systems within AbbVie's data science organization in Irvine, CA. Oversees multiple therapeutic areas, manages team performance, and drives technology implementations for clinical trials data management while ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple therapeutic areas and supervise internal and external resources allocated to programs
- Lead team performance management including recruitment, onboarding, development, and talent retention
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve performance and reduce operational costs
- Act as subject matter expert and process owner for clinical data systems and related workflows
- Oversee cross-functional initiatives and provide strategic direction to staff on operations activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, life sciences, or equivalent; Master's preferred
- 8+ years clinical database design, data loading, and modeling; or 9+ years similar technical/clinical development experience
- Intermediate SAS and/or SQL programming skills; expert knowledge of database concepts
- In-depth knowledge of CDASH and SDTM standards; thorough understanding of clinical trial processes
- Proven experience managing teams and direct reports in people leadership roles
- Advanced IRT/RTSM experience with vendor management and software development lifecycle understanding
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority; effective communication and analytical skills
