Job Summary

Birchwood Terrace is looking to grow our current rehabilitation program and is seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team.

As an OTA, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, while helping residents improve their functional abilities and quality of life. Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders and under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

• Respond to requests for occupational therapy services by gathering information and making appropriate referrals to the Registered Occupational Therapist.

• Implement and modify individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under OTR supervision.

• Monitor residents' responses to treatments and make appropriate modifications during treatment sessions as directed.

• Observe residents and document their progress, changes in condition, and other pertinent information.

• Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient treatments and progress.

• Collaborate with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary care teams to support resident-centered care.

• Promote resident safety, independence, and quality of life throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of Vermont.

• Long-term care experience preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with residents with different personalities, needs, and abilities.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
