Bus Driver/Operator

Join the front line of campus life as a Bus Driver/Operator with the University's Transportation Department! This full-time position plays a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and friendly service to our campus community. Drivers work 40 hours per week on rotating shifts between 4:45 AM and 12:30 AM, supporting operations 7 days a week. They also may be asked to be on-call or support overtime driving.

As a vital part of our team, you'll be the face of the university for many students, faculty, and visitors—providing exceptional service with every ride. This essential position requires a CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement and at least one year of experience operating passenger buses (16+ capacity). The position is considered essential personnel and must report for emergency preparedness or response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport passengers across campus and surrounding areas.
• Deliver excellent customer service as a visible ambassador of the university.
• Use efficient computer skills for clerical tasks, email communication, and fleet reporting.
• Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Fuel, clean, and perform routine maintenance checks on assigned and shared vehicles.
• Maintain accurate logs and submit documentation through digital platforms.
• Report to work during emergencies or special events as an essential employee.
• Compliance with traffic and safety regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
• Ability to react to changing conditions in route format, weather, or general driving conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
