Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Micro

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist specializing in microbiology for UAB St. Vincent's in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, quality control, and specimen processing in a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

Evaluate specimen acceptability for testing per departmental criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures following Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper function
Execute preventive maintenance and document quality control procedures
Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
Ability to pass color blindness screening test
Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
