Energy Engineering Lead

VHB is seeking a visionary Energy Engineering Lead to spearhead our growing Energy Evolution Practice | VHB. Join a dynamic, collaborative team at the forefront of transformative projects, including substation expansions and rebuilds, transmission, renewable energy development, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Responsibilities Design substation structures and foundations. Collaborate with multidiscipline internal and external project teams. Develop/review civil/structural engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and specifications. Document and track action items and deliverables. Procure major/minor civil/structural materials and prepare material takeoffs. Monitor project financial performance. Perform field visits and site inspections. Manage work and professional development of junior-level staff. Manage small, medium, and large projects. Develop new project opportunities and assist with proposal development and submissions. Skills and Attributes Strong, creative engineering skills and ability to adhere to office standards. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Self-motivated. Ability to multitask and think critically. Excels at working in a team environment. Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential. Has interest in growing business development skills. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering/Structural (MS may be substituted for 2 years of relevant experience). Minimum 8-11 years experience of commercial experience in civil/structural engineering. Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred. Experience with any of the following software is a plus: RISA-3D, PLS-CADD, LPILE, & MicroStation/AutoCAD. Experience with investor-owned utilities required. Experience in developing and compiling/producing project drawings, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
