The ideal candidate is comfortable managing acute hospital patients, making timely clinical decisions, and coordinating care across disciplines to ensure safe and effective outcomes.This position is best suited for an advanced practice provider with strong inpatient or critical care experience who is prepared to practice with a high level of autonomy.Schedule12-hour night shiftsApproximately 15 shifts per monthSunday–Saturday rotationWhat You'll DoManage inpatient care from admission through dischargePerform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plansRespond to acute changes in patient condition overnightOrder and interpret diagnostic studiesCollaborate with specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary departmentsComplete admissions, progress notes, and discharge planningEnsure continuity and quality of care throughout hospitalizationUtilize phone-based physician support when clinically appropriateQualificationsNurse Practitioner (NP)Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited NP programCurrent Illinois RN and NP licensureNational certification as ACNP, AGNP, or FNPStrongly preferred: acute care certification or hospitalist/critical care experienceDEA registrationCurrent ACLS and BLS certificationPhysician Assistant (PA)Master's degree from an accredited PA programCompletion of clinical rotations across multiple disciplinesCurrent Illinois PA license (new graduates welcome)NCCPA certificationDEA registrationCurrent ACLS and BLS certificationExperienceAcute care or inpatient hospital experience required or strongly preferred depending on certification trackPA new graduates welcome; NP role requires strong acute care readiness or relevant hospitalist/critical care experienceLocationGateway Regional Medical Center2100 Madison AvenueGranite City, IL 62040CompensationCompetitive salary with shift differentials and performance-based incentives.Compensation is determined based on education, experience, certifications, and relevant skills.
