This includes maintaining a safe environment and providing compassionate care to patients and family members. The EMT-P will collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access only at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader. The EMT-P will also be expected to provide initial medical services including basic airway management, spinal stabilization and transportation to ill or injured persons if requested through a code 250 or code blue activation as outlined in the code policy under the supervision of the ED Medical Director.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED). Experience as a Paramedic preferred. Must be proficient in English; must have the ability to read, write, and speak in English.*Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required. *Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. *Current PHTLS certification is preferred.Must have and maintained a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.Exemption Status Nonexempt Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
