This role offers a strong platform for business development, high-quality work, and a culture that values both professional success and work-life balance.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.Represent businesses in contract disputes, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, business torts, and other commercial matters.Manage client relationships and serve as a strategic advisor to business clients.Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions.Support the continued growth of the commercial litigation practice through business development and relationship management.Qualifications / Nice to HaveMust HaveJ.D. from an accredited law school.Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility for admission via waiver.8+ years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm environment.Experience independently managing complex business disputes.Nice to HaveTrial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing experience.Experience handling shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, business tort litigation, and complex contract disputes.Demonstrated history of business development and client retention.BenefitsBenefitsCompensation generally ranging from $235,000 to $300,000+, depending on productivity, collections, and business origination.15% origination compensation on collected revenue from originated business.Annual profit-sharing contributions historically ranging from $10,000 to $28,000.Two-year draw protection period for lateral Non-Equity Partner hires during practice integration.Flexible hybrid work arrangement.Opportunity to collaborate with an experienced team of attorneys across multiple practice areas.Clear and transparent advancement path from Non-Equity Partner to Equity Partner.Strong business development support, sophisticated matters, and a culture that values both professional growth and work-life balance.Partnership LevelsNon-Equity Partner: Generally targeted toward attorneys with a portable book of business of $250,000+.Equity Partner: Generally targeted toward attorneys with a portable book of business of $750,000+.Attorneys with smaller books of business who possess strong commercial litigation experience and a demonstrated desire to grow their practice are encouraged to apply.
