Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the cardiac step-down unit for a fixed start date of 09/21. The RN will deliver specialized care to cardiac patients, including post-op open-heart and heart cath recovery, with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac step-down patients, including post-op open-heart, cardiac drips, and heart cath recovery.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, and manage ventilated patients in rare circumstances.
• Document patient progress accurately using Epic EMR, maintaining compliance with hospital standards.
• Float to other units during low volumes or coverage needs, ensuring seamless patient care continuity.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate patient recovery and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of three years of cardiac step-down experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in open-heart, cardiac cath recovery, and Epic EMR.
• Be BLS and ACLS certified.
• Show ability to care for ventilated patients if required.
• Possess excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
