The Role Special Team Captain Guest Service: a charismatic leader dedicated to consistently meeting and exceeding guest expectations, delivering a Talk of the Town shopping experience. You will create an energetic, trustworthy, warm, and sincere atmosphere as the cornerstone of our Guest Checkout team. Responsibilities Deliver Talk of the Town Guest Service and drive optimal Guest Checkout team performance. Achieve financial targets and maintain all Guest Checkout operations. Provide superior guest experience and serve as the contact for inquiries and concerns. Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and onboard first‑class team members. Handle HR duties and serve as the primary HR contact for store team members. Train, develop, retain, mentor, and motivate the Guest Checkout team. Assist with cross‑training of team members across departments. Schedule team members to maximize productivity while meeting business and labor goals. Manage daily cash handling, weekly audits, record retention, and cashier procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Guest Checkout area, equipment, and supplies. Identify guest trends and collaborate with leadership to drive value and growth. Continuously learn and grow for personal development. Lead the Guest Checkout team in delivering a transformative shopping experience. Qualifications 5+ years of Guest Service leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or a restaurant. 4‑year college degree or equivalent preferred. Proven track record of consistent guest‑engaged service. Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills. Strong analytical, decision‑making, and financial analysis skills. Advanced computer skills. Sense of urgency, time management, prioritization, and multitasking. Attention to detail. Ability to remain composed, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Availability for flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full‑time position. Physical Demands and Work Environment Regular walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motions. Approximately 90% walking, 10% sitting during a typical shift. Movement throughout the store to access various departments. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (walk‑in coolers and freezers) and chemicals. Operating checkout and other store equipment.
