With origins in Linux, NFS, Open standards, Flash and deep file system and data management technology leadership, Hammerspace delivers the world's first and only solution to connect global users with their data and applications on any existing data center infrastructure or AWS, Azure, and Google cloud services.What You'll DoBuild and own production-grade Python + shell automation frameworks (deployment, monitoring, self-healing, lifecycle).Treat infrastructure as code: design, deploy, and version-control everything with Ansible and Terraform across Debian and RHEL fleets.Be the go-to Linux admin for networking, storage, virtualization, and distributed systems.Wire up configuration management, observability, and orchestration so nothing breaks silently.Partner with DevOps, NetEng, and app teams to deliver reproducible, auditable environments.Ruthlessly automate yourself out of a job—then automate the automation.Jump into the data center ~1 day/month: rack servers, run cables, swap drives, high-five the robots.Must-Have SkillsAnsible + Terraform wizardry; playbooks and modules are your love language.Battle-tested on Debian and Red Hat in production.Write Python that scales: clean APIs, solid error handling, thorough tests.Linux internals muscle:Bonding/VLANs, IP tables, BGP basicsRAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, NVMe-oFKVM, LXC, Docker, CRI-OGit-flow, CI/CD pipelines, chat-ops integrations.Happy in a rack with a torque screwdriver or SSH session.Nice-to-HavesVMware vSphere or Kubernetes cluster wranglingAWS / GCP / Azure cost-optimization experienceWho Thrives HereYou get giddy when a cron job retires.You sketch architectures on napkins, then make them real.You can dead-lift 60 lbs of server without spilling your coffee.Location & LogisticsThis is a Hybrid-friendly role, with ~3 days/week in our Riverton office and ability to go into our Bluffdale data-center when needed.PerksEquity in a rocket-ship storage startupTop-tier health, dental, 401(k)Flexible Time OffThe anticipated compensation range for this role is $150,000-175,000. Actual compensation will be determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional/education experience, skills/abilities, internal equity, and budgetary considerations.
