TANK SPRAY MACHINE OPERATOR

Monday - Thursday

4:00 pm - 3:30 am

$22.71 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operate the spray machine at the specified pace to properly apply glaze to tanks.
• Load unsprayed greenware tanks onto spray machine from greenware storage rack, being careful not to break or damage the ware.
• Load sprayed greenware tanks onto firing setters or storage rack from spray machine, being careful not to break or damage the ware.
• Perform limited manual spraying in specific areas as required.
• Make necessary adjustments to spray machine to insure proper glaze coverage, including the cleaning of spray guns, and weight and thickness readings.
• Deliver racks of greenware from dryer to the spray machine with a forklift, scan each bar code for proper color, plate number, etc., prior to spraying and loading.
• Maintain orderly work area (i.e. clean spray equipment and keep in good working condition, etc.
• Practice and follow all safety regulations.
• Perform all duties as assigned by supervision.
• Inspect and adjust tank and/or covers as required to prevent defects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Must be able to repetitively lift weights of up to 40 lbs as needed.
• Requires exposure to heat, chemicals, dust, and high noise.
• Must have working knowledge of the spray machine, glaze and how glaze should be applied.
• Must be able to distinguish between shades of color.
