Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position for a high-acuity surgical step-down setting. The role supports patients requiring close monitoring, complex drains and devices, and multiple intravenous infusions. The assignment involves night shifts and may require holiday coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; willingness to manage chest tubes, arterial lines, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines, other central lines, ostomies, tracheostomies, nasogastric (NG) tubes, wound vacuums, and other drains.
• Preferred Qualifications: Electronic medical record experience with Epic; intensive care unit (ICU) background.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend required.
• Assignment Dates: 11/16/2026–02/14/2027.
• Additional Information: High-acuity surgical step-down environment with an approximate nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, occasionally 3:1. Responsibilities include managing heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions. Thanksgiving and one additional winter holiday may be required.
