Medical Laboratory Scientist - Per Diem Variable

Job Overview Medical Laboratory Scientist (Journeyman) – Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center, Oregon City, OR. Per Diem/Variable Shift. The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high‑complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/CLS JRN personnel perform pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical duties, including specimen evaluation, data analysis and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They work with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers and other Laboratory Services staff to support patient care. Responsibilities Accurately and timely reporting of high‑complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. Perform pre‑analytical, analytical and post‑analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance and problem resolution. Collaborate with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, and other Laboratory Services staff to support patient care. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from an NAACLS accredited MLS program. Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory sciences. National Medical Laboratory Scientist or National Clinical Laboratory Scientist or National Medical Technologist or National Medical Technologist (American Medical Technologists) upon hire. 1 year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department meeting or exceeding the principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory. Compensation Pay Range: $37.84 - $58.75 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
