Employee Benefits Coordinator

Benefits Coordinator Location: Midtown Manhattan (on-site, 4 days per week) Pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr A large nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join its centralized HR operations team. This role supports employee benefit administration across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy in data management, payroll integration, and employee records within the HRIS system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and experienced in handling confidential employee information in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Process and maintain employee benefit data in the HRIS and related carrier systems. Review new hire enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes for accuracy and compliance. Manage billing adjustments and assist with monthly benefits reconciliations. Coordinate continuation of coverage processes, including notifications and invoicing. Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Prepare and distribute compliance notifications and benefits documentation. Support reporting, audits, and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Benefits, or a related field. 1–3+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR operations. Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills. HRIS system experience required; Lawson or similar platform preferred. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through. Strong communication and customer service skills. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
