Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider - physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner - in the medical office setting. Responsibilities of the role include:
Clinical Functions:
Administrative Functions:
*Taking patients to rooms
*Greeting patients
*Obtaining vital signs
*Scheduling appointments
*Performing phlebotomy
*Answering phones
*Obtaining lab specimens
*Clerical & computer work
*Adhering to safety and infectionguidelines
*Faxing
*Maintainingelectronic medical records (EMR)
*Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork

Desired:
One year Nursing Assistant, PCA or MA
High School Diploma or GED;
Certified Medical Assistant Desired: Certification or National Registry as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
