Respiratory Care Practitioner II

Contract | Full-Time | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts | On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care services for all patient populations including geriatric, adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Manage ventilators and administer nebulized medication therapy, oxygen therapy, specialty gas, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, and mist tent therapy
• Perform diagnostic procedures including 12-lead ECGs, simple pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, and assist with cardiac stress testing
• Perform arterial and capillary punctures; assess oxygenation, acid-base balance, and ventilation efficiency; support cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and participate in Rapid Response Team activities and continuing education
• Accurately document treatments and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts

Required Qualifications

• College diploma required
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
• Active State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working across multiple age-specific patient populations including neonatal and pediatric care
• Demonstrated ability to assess patient needs, tolerance, and response to treatment and adjust care plans accordingly
