Accounting Manager

This role can sit in St. Charles, Wheeling, or Logan Square

We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing and distribution organization to identify a hands-on Accounting Manager.

This position will support multiple business units within an established the organization. The company is looking for an accounting leader who can manage day-to-day accounting operations, develop a small team, and help strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being actively involved in the accounting function while also taking ownership of team leadership, financial reporting, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three accounting professionals.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Support inventory accounting, accruals, revenue recognition, and related accounting activities.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
• Partner with senior accounting leadership on financial analysis, budgeting, and special projects.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audit preparation.
• Support ERP system enhancements, reporting improvements, and accounting-related system initiatives.
• Collaborate with operational and business leaders to support financial accuracy and business performance.
