OBGYN Medical Assistant

Medical AssistantPerform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.The Medical Assistant job description is intended to highlight major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.Taking Patient Vital SignsTaking Medical HistoriesPreparing Patients for Medical Tests and ExaminationsAssisting Physicians During ExaminationsExplaining Medical Procedures to PatientsSterilizing Medical InstrumentsRemoving SuturesCalling or electronic entering Prescriptions into PharmaciesPreparing Patients for X-RaysAdministering Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular MedicationsTranscribing all notes and documents related to treatments.Other duties as assignedTravel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Certification as a Medical Assistant or diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred.
