Marketing Strategist, Principal - Medicare and Medi-Cal

Your Role

The Growth and Integrated Marketing team is accountable for supporting the Markets teams through targeted growth strategies, while also building measurable, integrated Brand and Marketing Plans that directly support all their goals. The Marketing Strategist, Principal will report to the Senior Director, Growth and Integrated Marketing. In this role you will facilitate bringing together a cross-functional Marketing team, creating a common understanding of the business challenges and goals, and building an integrated marketing strategy with regular consolidated reporting to the Medicare and Medi-Cal Markets team. This work will be led in partnership with representatives from all Brand and Marketing functions as well as our partners in Digital and Customer Experience. In this capacity, this individual will also be the single POC to the business for all issues that arise outside of Growth Marketing and will work across the larger Brand and Marketing team to develop and communicate solutions. This role will also work with the Measurement Team to develop timely reporting on the Brand and Marketing initiatives that were captured in the playbook.

Responsibilities

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Define marketing approaches for complex initiatives aligned to line‑of‑business priorities
• Lead development of integrated go‑to‑market plans across channels and stakeholders
• Synthesize market, consumer, and performance data to inform strategic direction
• Influence planning and prioritization discussions through clear analysis and recommendations
• Guide cross‑functional teams on execution approach for high‑impact initiatives
• Distill complex problems to solve, connect strategic insights, and craft resolutions that align with strategic growth targets
• Create communication materials through PowerPoint to visualize depict the story and influence decisions
• Work closely with Senior Director and Senior Principal leaders on team for direction on large scale, complex projects
• Influence Senior Director and Senior Principals to challenge thinking and drive the direction of the strategy based on insights
• May be asked to present to Directors and Vice Presidents when appropriate and attend meetings on behalf of the Senior Director, Growth and Integrated Marketing
• Create an integrated view of the entire Medicare marketing plan inclusive of goals and results when appropriate

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree; master's degree in business administration or related field preferred
• Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Requires significant experience working for a health insurance company with a strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal Marketing
• Requires demonstrated experience building and executing on marketing strategies and plans
• Must be an effective storyteller and know how to create impactful presentations for executive and sales leadership
• Must have strong influence and communication skills and be able to work across Brand and Marketing to capture plan details, goals and results
• Must be highly detail oriented, very organized and a strong self-starter

This role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.

Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
