Lead, CAD Designer (Space Optical Systems) : Sign-on bonus ($30K max)

Relocation: Relocation assistance is available to qualified applicants Sign-On Bonus: A sign-on bonus of up to $30K may be included as part of an offer package for this level Job Description: L3Harris Space Superiority and Imaging sector has an immediate opening for a Lead, CAD Designer to support our growing Wilmington, MA site. As part of the Hardware CAD organization, you will work with programs at all phases of the product lifecycle to develop and document designs from conceptual representation through final documentation. As a designer you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the product data through PLM and CAD tools within the appropriate processes and controls, and will be responsible for enacting changes with direction from program and other engineering functions. This role is expected to be a subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of processes and must be able to manage large, complex project models of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction. Communication will be within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. You will make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products and provide input into new products/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Essential Functions: Develop and maintain solid models aligned with L3Harris processes Develop documentation (drawings, etc.) as part of a products data Implement changes to a products data based on guidance from the program team Assist program teams in major milestones (reviews) Assist programs in task development as appropriate Assist in the development of proposals Manage large and complex CAD models and their corresponding data Subject Matter Expert on process and product lines Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. 7+ years of CAD design experience Professional experience using PTC CREO Experience using Agile PLM Professional experience working within Aerospace design environments Preferred Additional Skills: Active U.S. Security Clearance highly preferred Knowledge of project management preferred AutoCAD Inventor Oracle Agile PLM In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $110,500.00 - $205,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
