Position Overview: Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (MED/SURG) to fill an opening at a hospital located in Marrero, LA. This role is ideal for a dedicated RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment, providing comprehensive care to adult and adolescent patients with a variety of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse patient population with medical diagnoses (e.g., pneumonia, CHF, COPD, diabetes) and post-surgical conditions (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy, orthopedic repairs). Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions. Perform frequent patient assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, intake/output, and mental status. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, post-discharge instructions, and disease management. Respond to changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and communicate concerns to the medical team. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all nursing care and patient responses in the EMR. Licensure: Active Louisiana state RN license and current BLS Certification. Experience: At least one year of relevant experience is required. Technical Skills: Proficient in IV therapy, wound care, medication administration (including P.O., IV, IM, and SQ routes), use of infusion pumps, and electronic medical records (EMR). Soft Skills: Excellent critical thinking and time management skills; strong verbal and written communication; empathetic and patient-focused demeanor; ability to prioritize multiple patients' needs.
