The intern should have a working knowledge of accounting theory and principles as well as some U.S. income tax knowledge. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:* Assist in preparation of income tax workpapers for provision and compliance.* Research basic US tax theory.* Assist with completion of book/tax differences and may include deprecation.* Assist with compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.* Assist with reconciling tax accounts.* Assist in special projects as needed.Core skill sets needed for this role:* Working towards Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent is required.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical.* Strong communication skills - both written and oral - are required.* Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel and Word) is essential. **The Candidate**To be eligible for an internship at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:* Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of internship (June 2027 – August 2027)* Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in accounting or the equivalent* Eligible to legally work in the United States* Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during Intern sessionNot ready to apply yet but want to stay in touch?
