We are looking for an experienced Lead Highway Designer to join us and help deliver complex road and highway projects in Poland and across international markets.In this role, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary highway design projects, develop high-quality design documentation in line with client requirements, schedules, and budgets, and support the professional development of less experienced team members within a collaborative project environment.Interested in learning more about the Highways team at Jacobs? Explore our team profile here: of duties:Leading the highway design elements of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects from concept stage through to construction and operation.Coordinating across different engineering disciplines.Provide leadership to the team and technical support to less experienced team members.Prepare and review design deliverables, reports, drawings and technical specifications in line with client requirements, project schedules, budgets and quality proceduresContributing to the planning of project scope, resources, delivery schedules and fee estimatesCollaborating with clients, project stakeholders, and project teams in Poland and internationallySupport digital delivery processes and contribute to BIM-compliant project delivery environmentsWhat We Offer:The opportunity to work within an experienced design team and contribute to international projects.Flexible working arrangements, including office-based and hybrid work options.Flexible working hours and our "short Fridays" schedule (8.5-hour workdays from Monday to Thursday and 6-hour workdays on Fridays).A comprehensive benefits package, including private medical care (Lux Med), additional life insurance, co-financing of a MultiSport card, the MyBenefit cafeteria platform, and access to psychological support.Holiday allowance under the company’s vacation subsidy program.Annual reimbursement of membership fees for the Chamber of Civil Engineers.To learn more about our benefits and working culture, visit: [ Here's what you'll need University degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on road/highway engineering.Professional engineering qualifications/license in road design.Minimum 12 years of professional experience in road infrastructure/street design, including at least 3 years of experience working on international projects.Experience in preparing and reviewing design documentation, detailed drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.Good working knowledge of Bentley software, particularly OpenRoads Designer, or Autodesk software, particularly Civil 3D with the ability to review and interpret highway design models and outputs.Thorough understanding of commonly used UK design standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) or US standards and knowledge of international equivalents.Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety / CDM regulations and a passion for fostering safety and wellbeing.Competent in Microsoft 365.Experience in leading project teams effectively and supporting technical development of teams.Experience in mentoring, supervising, and supporting the development of team members.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Very good command of English, minimum B2 level.Nice to have:Experience working on projects delivered in accordance with US, UK, or Middle Eastern design standardsExperience working with public sector clients, local authorities, or infrastructure authorities/operatorsExperience with the use of project management software (Primavera or MSProject),Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US or Chartered Engineer status and membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) or similar in the UKAbility to provide technical and contractual advice to internal clientsExperience in land side alignment elements in adjacent markets such as Water or AviationWe recognize that being inclusive brings us closer together and enhances our creativity.
