Shipping & Receiving Associate

Shipping/Receiving PositionSummary: Responsible for shipping/receiving functions as assigned including but not limited to; kitting, shipping, part-marking, part packaging, receiving, posting PO's, delivering shipments to customers/vendors, tooling inventory and inventory cycle counting. Valid driver's license without limitations or restrictions required.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintains a positive and professional working relationship with all internal and external customersNavigates a fast paced environment with extreme accuracy and attention to detailPrioritizes daily work load and coordinates with Manager to ensure dept. goals are metCompletes systematic transactions accuratelyAbility to research and resolve transactionsEnsures inventory accuracy physically and systematically for products on work orders, in stock, or shipping to customerIdentifies, documents, and issues the proper inventory number and batch number from stockCommunicates with other departments to resolve issues with product and/or paperworkUnderstands part mark cards, packaging standards, and packaging technique cardsCommunicates with vendors regarding shipments or deliveriesUtilizes forklift to load, unload, move, or stack materials in a safe mannerPackage, Un-package and physically move productUnderstands packaging standards to ensure safe transit of productAssists with the internal/external transportation of productGenerates purchase orders for outside processing and outside manufacturingCreates packing slips with supporting documentation for all product shipping to the customerCreates accurate manifests, ASN's, and other shipping documentsPerforms accurate shipments in courier specific websites, such as UPS, Fed Ex, etc.Requests maintenance on company fleet while maintaining safety check sheetVerifies and compares manifest to actual box count and ensuring correct delivery locationMaintains and clean and organized work environmentResponsible for the quality of their work and implementation of the quality policyMakes recommendations to improve processesAssist other departments in meeting organizational goals as requiredQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates and Licenses: Ability to obtain forklift certificationEquipment: Forklift, Pallet jack, Part mark machine, ScannerSpecialized Training: Previous Shipping/Receiving Experience beneficial, MRP or ERP system experience beneficial, Machine shop understanding a plus, Aviation background helpfulKnowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Willingness to apply hands-on approach in supporting activities and to step in when needed, Strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful when under pressure, Must be a team player, Quality orientated, must understand requirements of AS9102, Comfort and experience working in a fast-paced environment, Familiarity and working knowledge of general office machines such as fax, copier, printers, and scanners, Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and dedication to supporting customer requirements, Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision, Commitment to work overtime on occasionPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
