Credit Risk Manager

Lending Transaction Underwriter

In this role you will underwrite and structure lending transactions, monitor portfolios, and ensure compliance with credit policy. You will work with client meetings and deal teams to assess risks and present credit requests to authority, shaping loan structures and risk appetite. You will manage ongoing reporting, covenant and collateral monitoring, and maintain client relationships for ongoing administration. This role offers impact through portfolio oversight, risk mitigation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support bank objectives.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and structure new and renewals, extensions, increases, and amendments for clients
• Participate in client meetings and internal deal discussions with senior management
• Identify, outline, and mitigate risk; advise on credit policy and loan structures
• Perform due diligence, prepare credit presentations, and obtain required credit authority
• Monitor portfolio via internal dashboards; ensure compliance with loan terms and reporting
• Maintain client contact for account monitoring and site visits
• Validate reports (financial statements, collateral, appraisals, etc.) to verify compliance
• Escalate issues and develop action plans; ensure accurate risk rating and monitoring
• Prepare quarterly and portfolio management reports, including Criticized Loan Monitoring Reports
• Contribute to special portfolio management projects

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of policies, procedures, underwriting guidelines, and RACs
• Knowledge of credit underwriting, financial accounting, and loan documentation
• Ability to structure deals and communicate the structure to lenders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong interpersonal, time management, mathematical, and administrative skills
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence; effective presenter
