Sr. Reliability Engineer (Stapling Portfolio / Surgical)

Medtronic seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead quality and reliability initiatives for advanced stapling surgical technologies. The role involves investigating product performance issues, conducting reliability testing, and driving improvements across the product lifecycle in partnership with R&D, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead reliability engineering programs including demonstration testing, accelerated life testing, and predictive modeling
- Investigate product performance and quality issues to identify failure mechanisms and root causes
- Apply statistical methods including DOE, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing to support engineering decisions
- Partner with R&D teams to evaluate design changes and support verification and validation activities
- Conduct hands-on laboratory investigations and technical assessments to validate hypotheses
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant experience, or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated product industries
- Knowledge of design controls, risk management, verification, and validation processes
- Experience with embedded software, electronic hardware, or electromechanical product development
- Proficiency in statistical methods and root cause investigation techniques
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601, or EU MDR standards
