Tax Specialist Location: Victoria, Texas Work Arrangement: Full-Time | On-Site Goldman, Hunt & Notz, L.L.P. is seeking a Tax Specialist to join our growing team in Victoria, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to work with an established regional CPA firm serving a diverse client base while developing your technical expertise alongside experienced accounting professionals. You'll contribute to meaningful client engagements involving tax preparation, tax planning support, financial reporting, and, depending on your experience, audit engagements. We're ideally seeking candidates with five or more years of tax preparation and/or audit experience. However, we also encourage applications from motivated professionals with less experience who demonstrate strong technical ability, professionalism, attention to detail, and a desire to continue building a successful career in public accounting. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Prepare individual, business, and other tax returns accurately and efficiently. Support tax planning and advisory projects under the guidance of firm leadership. Conduct tax research and remain current with federal and state tax law developments. Participate in audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, testing, workpaper preparation, and financial reporting, depending on experience and firm needs. Organize and review client documentation to ensure engagements are complete, accurate, and well supported. Work with a diverse client base, including businesses, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and other specialized entities. Utilize Thomson Reuters tax, audit, document management, and workflow software to complete engagements efficiently. Collaborate with partners and fellow professionals to provide responsive, high-quality client service. Maintain strict confidentiality while exercising sound professional judgment. Effectively manage multiple priorities and meet engagement deadlines, particularly during peak filing periods. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to producing high-quality work while contributing to a collaborative professional environment. Preferred qualifications include: Ideally five or more years of tax preparation and/or audit experience; exceptional candidates with less experience will also be considered. Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns. Audit experience is welcomed but not required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure is welcomed but not required. Experience using Thomson Reuters software and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Commitment to ethical client service, confidentiality, and continuous learning.
