Senior Substation Project Engineer

About The Role We’re looking for a Sr. Substation Project Engineer for a 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2) on behalf of our client. The Engineering & Construction Team seeks an experienced engineer to manage renewable generation substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. The contractor will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists, provide project direction, and report to the onsite manager. Travel between worksites and other locations is essential, and a valid driver’s license is required. The position is remote with some travel. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. Conduct project meetings and perform project tracking and analysis. Identify challenges, develop measures, validate results, and implement solutions. Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues. Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services; support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions. Qualifications Certified Professional Engineer (PE) Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural engineering 6+ years’ experience in substation design and engineering of high‑voltage substation projects Project engineering or project management experience PMP or P.E. in a related discipline is helpful Some travel required within North America Safety Pledge We are committed to the safety of our people.
