Join our Heart Ridge team whose mission is hospitality- showing care for others, and to help people get away from their busy lives for a bit for connection, healing, and discovery.

We are looking for someone who is available weekends (usually 3 out of 4 Fridays/Saturdays a month during fall and spring, and usually NOT on holidays) to prepare, cook, and serve the food to whomever is staying at our retreat center for the weekend. There are also opportunities to work on some weekdays as well. And there is some flexibility for schedule preferences.

Living on our campus with housing is a possibility as well as optional hours for other light retreat center duties. Making it a full time position if desired.

This job does require good health and stamina as some of the days require a lot of standing.

Duties:

Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.

Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and handling practices are followed.
Provide exceptional service during meal times, catering to the needs of guests.

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area.
Clean up kitchen and cafeteria after the meals.
Maintain inventory of food and paper products used for meals.

Requirements:

Previous experience cooking for a crowd preferred.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
