Field Service Technician

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Field Service Technician role based in Schaumburg, IL. The Field Service Technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Crown forklifts and related material handling equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, completing equipment inspections, and documenting all work performed in accordance with company and safety standards. The role involves communicating with customers to explain findings, recommend solutions, and ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely. The technician will manage assigned service calls, maintain tools and parts inventory, and follow all safety and quality procedures while working both independently and as part of a local service team. Qualifications Technical and mechanical skills: ability to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; experience with industrial or automotive equipment is preferred. Equipment and tools: proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and service manuals to perform maintenance and repairs. Customer service and communication: strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers professionally, explain technical issues clearly, and build long-term service relationships. Organization and problem-solving: ability to manage service calls, prioritize tasks, maintain accurate records, and apply analytical thinking to resolve complex issues. Safety and compliance: commitment to following safety guidelines, workplace regulations, and company policies, including proper handling of equipment and parts. Education and experience: high school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or related fields is beneficial; prior field service or maintenance experience is a plus. Additional qualifications: valid driver's license with a good driving record, ability to work on-site at customer locations in and around Schaumburg, IL, and capability to lift and move heavy components as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
