- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients ranging from children to seniors, utilizing standardized assessments and observational strategies.
- Design individualized treatment plans that target immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to devise effective care strategies.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families, promoting progress during and beyond your clinical sessions.
- Incorporate occasional inpatient evaluations and speech therapy interventions, ensuring a cohesive continuum of care throughout the entire treatment process.
- Ensure precise documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to professional development by staying informed on the latest advances in the field through educational opportunities and peer collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
- Strong proficiency in evidence-based therapies for a diverse client population, with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Capability to modify therapy strategies to cater to varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Excellent clinical judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable navigating electronic health records and maintaining rigorous documentation standards.
