Requirements
\n - Bachelor's degree
\n - ASCP certification
\n - Prior lab experience and knowledge

Responsibilities
\n - Examines prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities.
\n - Using diagnostic codes, report negative cases and refers abnormal cases to the pathologists for review.
\n - Keeps records of work performed on daily basis.
\n - Responsible for maintaining the microscope in working condition.
\n - May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to the pathologists for final diagnosis.
\n - Participates in all continuing education programs. Maintains record of work performed.
\n - Responsible for the cytologic studies of specimens and for the initial screening and reporting of normal GYN cases, referring all abnormal cases for pathology review.
\n - May read Non-GYN and report the findings to the pathologists for final review and reporting.
\n - Promotes quality relations and creates supportive climate by serving as a role model.
\n - Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory.
\n - Adheres to all laboratory policies and regulations.
\n - Works with minimal direction.
\n - Functions as a liaison between the laboratory and laboratory clients. Performs other related duties
