Key Responsibilities\n

• Complete comprehensive assessments and screenings for patients entering the detox program to identify their mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Provide short-term individual counseling, focusing on crisis intervention strategies for patients coping with substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.

• Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that help patients explore topics such as coping strategies, life skills, and personal development, ensuring a supportive space for sharing and growth.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital staff, including medical teams and patient support services, to advocate for comprehensive patient care and maintain continuity of treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor in this position will primarily work with individuals undergoing detoxification from substance use, often facing co-occurring mental health disorders. This patient population may experience anxiety, depression, trauma, and the complexities of recovery. Qualifications\n

• Current state licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; however, preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a comparable discipline.
