Summer Transit & Event Shuttle Driver

ABSUTransit Bus Driver is responsible for the safe operation of University-leased/BAT-owned buses and BSU-owned buses to provide efficient, reliable, and courteous passenger service transporting students and community members to their destination(s) on campus routes and/or BATCentre route, as well as taking routine care of the buses. BSUTransit Drivers will also have the opportunity to transport clubs, organizations, athletes and/or other BSU-affiliated groups to University-related functions. Buses used will be a Class B/coach category, mini-buses/vans are a Class D category.

Eligibility requirements: Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester. Individual must hold a CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsement. Individual must be comply with BSUTransit rules and regulations in regards to pre-employment physicals and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening/testing. Individual must be safety conscience and attentive to surrounding environments including traffic, road conditions, and weather conditions. Individual must have excellent driving skills and a reputable driving record. Individual must be willing to attend all training and mandatory meetings required by the University/BSUTransit.

Preferred Qualifications - 1. Individual must be currently CPR certified or capable of receiving certification. 2. Individual must be familiar with all policies, and routes/vehicles operated by the BSUTransit Service 3. Individual must be familiar with general first aid procedures.

Physical Demands - 1. Completion of a pre-trip inspection checklist of the bus to be driven; report defect/mechanical problems to appropriate personnel. 2. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of bus interior with shift end 3. Assist with loading and unloading of buses and other duties as assigned.

Hourly Rate - $16.00-$18.00
