The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. About the team:

The Facility Services General Maintenance team ensures Walmart and Sam’s Club locations operate safely and efficiently through routine repairs and preventive maintenance. This team manages a broad range of building and equipment upkeep, including doors, flooring, forklifts, and shopping carts. Members collaborate to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards. They support one another by sharing expertise and providing hands-on training. The team plays a crucial role in sustaining facility functionality and delivering reliable service to support business operations across multiple sites.

What you'll do:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.

• Inspect, clean, and repair equipment while documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.

• Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate parts ordering, track expenses, and submit warranty claims and maintenance invoices.

• Identify hazards or equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions or escalate as needed.

• Collaborate with teams to improve processes and support business priorities.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.

• Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification and safety procedures.

• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure quality work and regulatory compliance.

• Skilled in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.

• Competence in identifying repair and replacement needs, recommending solutions to prevent future issues.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operational priorities and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.

Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.

No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
