IT Data Analyst

Data AnalystThe Data Analyst will be part of the OWI Analytics team, partnering closely with business stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analyses that drive decision-making. This role goes beyond report production — it requires understanding the "why" behind a request, identifying the right data and methodology, and delivering insights that business partners can act on.Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:Learn and map business processes end-to-end with stakeholders to identify the KPIs that genuinely measure performance for that process, then determine what data is required to analyze both the KPI itself and the underlying factors driving its performancePartner with the Data Engineering and Data Science teams to translate those KPI and data requirements into validated data models — confirming the models actually deliver on the business objective identified in the step above, not just that they're technically completePartner with business stakeholders to scope analytical requests, clarify objectives, and identify the right metrics and data sources before analysis beginsCreate visualizations that provide business insights for our global customers — dashboards, cash-flow projections, histograms, projective analysis, financial analysis, KPIs, and SLA reportingUse SQL to independently mine data and translate business needs into clear, creative visualizationsValidate data and reporting outputs against SAP as the source-of-truth ERP, identifying and resolving discrepancies before they reach stakeholdersAssess data quality and flag data quality issues to the Data Warehouse team; support data governance practicesLeverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot in Power BI, generative AI for data exploration and narrative summaries) to accelerate insight generation and surface patterns in large datasetsDemonstrate critical thinking and sound judgment to offer thoughtful, concise input toward problem resolutionCollaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, functional teams, and other data analysts to develop insight-driven visualizationsSupport requirements gathering, design, deployment, and change management for reporting projects (entry-level project management)Build and demo prototypes to stakeholders — peer groups, business partners, and senior leadersSupport and train peers/SMEs on report usage, troubleshooting, and results analysisDevelop leadership skills to promote ideas, coordinate work, and plan deliverables within a project teamEducation, Skills and Abilities:Experience with Microsoft Power BI (required); DEX (Deployment Pipelines/Dataflows Experience) knowledge strongly preferredWorking knowledge of SAP as an ERP/data validation sourceEntry-level SQL proficiency for data querying and miningExposure to AI-assisted analytics tools (Copilot, generative AI for BI) a plusEntry-level experience with data analytics concepts — data dictionaries, data mapping, normalization conceptsBasic project management and business process modelingMinimum Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or closely related fieldExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and business audiencesStrong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems effectively and in a timely mannerThis opportunity offers a competitive benefits package including:Medical, dental, and vision coverage with wellness benefitsCompany-matching 401(k) planCompany-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment benefitsCompany-paid long-term care coverageCompany-paid disabilityFlexible spending and health savings accountsCompany-paid employee assistance programPaid time off and paid holidaysAdditional benefits included: voluntary life insurance, legal benefits, critical illness, accident insurance, and pet insuranceOld World Industries is among the largest privately held companies competing in the automotive aftermarket today.
