Job Title

Responsible for the oversight and management of the Metal's departments and all manufacturing support functions in a world-class plant operation's manner. Is responsible for supervising all employees in a timely completion of all work orders to meet quality and efficiency standards, as well as providing a collaborative approach to excellence in safety, process compliance, and operational excellence activities

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for providing safety leadership within the metal's team, including development of new safety policies and procedures to support world-class practices.
• Provides strong leadership and mentorship of the metal team by promoting high standards.
• Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to sustain.
• Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of metal staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive, employee-centric work environment.
• Supervises daily work tasks and schedule for department activities.
• Evaluate and disciplines employees as required, according to company policies.
• Promote 5S and good housekeeping practices throughout the department.
• Active participation in the hazardous communication program.
• Investigate and report on all labor variances.
• Adhere and train employees to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements.

Knowledge and Skill Requirement

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

• High School Diploma. Engineering or Industrial degree preferred.
• Prefer 5 years' experience in the fabrication and assembly of metal products or heavy manufacturing field.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
• Provides guidance and fosters a positive work environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, as well as key stakeholders.
• Strong 5S, housekeeping skills that align with world-class manufacturing programs.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and make informed decisions.
• Understands the principles and tools of Operational Excellence with previous experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), previous ERP experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.

Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions

• Typical office/factory environment with exposure to ambient temperatures in un-conditioned production areas.
• Exposure to general production machine noise levels.
• Exposure to hazards such as electrical and moving mechanical parts.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to be on the shop floor for a minimum of 50% of the workday. During this time, it may include walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to withstand extreme seasonal temperature conditions.
• Required to lift 50 pounds and move odd, shaped objects (desks, tables, etc.).
• Required to work a 40-hour work week with overtime as required to support plant operations.
• Each employee is required to wear eye, hearing and foot protection.
