Job Description

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for providing overall strategic leadership and operational direction to ensure financial, operational, safety, quality, productivity and delivery goals are met to ensure customer satisfaction. This role oversees a medium, highly complex, manufacturing facility with approximately 175+ professional and hourly associates. This role requires the timely and accurate completion of reports on key production metrics such as efficiency, downtime, and cost. The Plant Manager plays a vital role in promoting a culture of safety by leading awareness initiatives, addressing safety issues, and managing incident investigations.

Job Description:

• Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing, quality, engineering, logistics, EH&S and facilities at the manufacturing site. providing leadership and direction to facility team members in order to meet production goals, ensure a safe work environment, and meet customer specifications.

• Leads a medium, highly complex molded fiber manufacturing facility with approximately 175+ professional and hourly associates.

• Builds a work environment that fosters operational, team and individual excellence by demonstrating effective leadership, communication and people support behaviors

• Oversees the scheduling, tracking and monitoring of production and costs to ensure facility meets established goals while maintaining a safe work environment and quality standards.

• Management of annual operating plan and deployment of resources to deliver production commitments in key safety, quality, service, and cost target areas.

• Maintain effective workforce through hiring, training, coaching and disciplinary actions.

• Support internal customer groups to ensure attainment of EBITDA targets and delivery of finished products to meet customer expectations.

• Provide direction to develop safety culture required to achieve and sustain world-class safety performance, including development and execution of effective safety processes.

• Responsible for developing annual operating plans, budgets, and detailed plans to deliver.

• Direct site capital programs and expenditures to support strategic operations goals.

• Comply with all local, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree preferred in Industrial Management, Engineering or Business.

• 7+ years of manufacturing operations experience, including supervisory/leadership experience required.

• Established track record of manufacturing accomplishments.

• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of statistical methods and process improvement techniques.

• Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing execution, and process based continuous improvement. Provide direction to establish a culture of continuous improvement leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles.

• Effective team building and demonstrated leadership skills.

• Effective communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to communicate well with all levels in the organization.

• Strong financial acumen, analytical skills and proven management effectiveness.

• Clear understanding of regulatory requirements required to manufacturing operations management.

• Must demonstrate proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130-170K + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
