Orange Coast College (OCC) is seeking an equity-minded individual for a classified management role as a Regional Project Director, Career Education and Grants, as part of the Instructional Services Wing, under the Dean of the Technology & Career Technical Education Division. About OCC's Career Technical Education The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department supports and coordinates Career Education, workforce development, and grant-funded initiatives across the College. It reports to the Dean of Technology and Career Education and works with the Vice President of Instruction, instructional deans, faculty, and campus partners to strengthen Career Education programs, respond to workforce and industry needs, and advance College priorities. The department coordinates major CTE and workforce funding sources, including Strong Workforce Program and Perkins funds, supporting strategic allocation of resources, project development, implementation, reporting, compliance, and evaluation of funded activities. It also helps connect and coordinate Career Education efforts across the College. Beyond administration of existing funds, the CTE Department helps identify opportunities and develops projects and funding strategies to address them. Distinguishing Career Features The Regional Project Director provides regional leadership and administers grants, working with internal and external faculty and partners to ensure objectives are met. This position reports to the Dean of Innovative Learning and Career Education. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties may vary, including providing technical assistance, organizing grant objectives, monitoring grants, coordinating meetings, developing outreach materials, submitting reports, hiring contractors, and ensuring compliance. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of career education programs, grant education needs, California Education Code, Title 5, and diverse communities. Proficiency in budget, grant writing, project management, reporting, and communication. Ability to lead teams and develop reports and professional correspondence. Abilities Ability to perform essential responsibilities, develop relationships, organize and implement projects, conduct research, manage budgets, train staff, and meet diverse student needs. Physical Abilities General physical demands; reasonable accommodations available under ADA/FEHA guidelines. Education and Experience Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience including grant administration; Master’s degree is preferred. Or equivalent. Evidence of sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of students and staff as required by regulations. Licenses and Certificates May require a valid driver's license.
