Machinist

Brief Description As a Machinist in our medical device manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in setting up and operating various machining equipment, which may include Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Your responsibilities will involve the production of intricate parts that meet stringent quality and safety standards, contributing to the creation of life-saving medical devices. Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, such as Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise part production. Select and install tooling, work holding, and fixtures appropriate for each job. Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot to maintain optimal machine performance. Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy. Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines within the manufacturing environment. Document work performed and maintain comprehensive production records. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred. Proven experience as a Machinist in a production setting, particularly with Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong understanding of machining principles, including tool selection, speeds, and feeds. Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities. Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality. Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring. A dedication to workplace safety.
