Food Pantry Coordinator

Position Food Pantry Coordinator Location Moore Street Corps, 5325 N Williams Ave, Portland, OR 97217

PURPOSE

The role of the Food Pantry Coordinator is to assist in the distribution of food items to clients through the Food Pantry, placing orders to the Oregon Food Bank, maintaining the function and stocking of food items within the pantry, and data entry. Hours Monday - Friday, 7am to 3:30pm (40 hours per week) Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Current driver's license. Pass a criminal history background check. Flexible schedule. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Basic computer skills and able to type.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive box truck to Oregon Food Bank to pick up order weekly. Must be able to use pallet jack and load full pallets into truck and unload items using hand truck. Restock shelves, organize items for clients to take as needed. Shop with clients in food pantry. Maintain an organized, clean waiting area and food pantry. Assist with intake of clients when needed. Work with staff and volunteers to serve the clients. Data entry, filing, copying, and other administrative tasks. Online reporting of statistics to Oregon Food Bank. Maintain all requirements of the Oregon Food Bank. Assist with seasonal help: intake, distribution, cleanup. Refer clients to other resources when appropriate. Attend occasional community meetings, Oregon Food Bank opportunities and training, to promote the food pantry within the community. Be available for special events and to assume additional responsibilities as needed. Physical Requirements Position involves lifting, moving, or carrying materials up to 50 pounds and walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching above shoulder height for extended periods. Working Conditions Authorization of a criminal history information check and motor vehicle records check required.
