OE Transmission Line Engineers

What You Will Do: OE Transmission Line Engineer to join our Power Business Group. Positions available in Chicago, IL; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; St. Louis, MO; Marlton, NJ; Roanoke, VA; Monroeville, PA. Hybrid or remote depending on location. As part of the power team, you will engage in cutting‑edge projects that drive the future of energy infrastructure and enhance system reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. You will be an Owner’s Engineer in transmission line engineering for a major utility client, navigating electrical transmission line design complexities, leading project discussions, and reviewing consultant submittals for constructability and compliance with client standards. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Participate in project team meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors. Review client submittals to ensure constructability and compliance with client standards and procedures. Review transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or other structural design software. Review design criteria documents and construction specifications. Review comprehensive construction packages: structure loading drawings, structure details, material lists, staking tables, plan and profiles, stringing charts. Review project schedules and ensure timely ordering of materials and long lead times. Ensure specifications comply with NESC, IEEE, NEC, and industry best practices. Coordinate feasibility studies, routing studies, and EMF calculations to support project planning. Oversee project implementation, verifying foundations, structures, and equipment installation. Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. 4+ years of transmission line design experience. In‑depth knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and related codes and standards. High proficiency in PLS-CADD. Knowledge of FAD Tools. Experience in electrical utility or utility consulting preferred. Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with RISA‑3D and/or STAAD for structural analysis. Functional understanding of AISC, ACI 318, ASCE 7, ASCE 10, ASCE 48. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Compensation: Salary range: $110,000 - $145,000, dependent on experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits: Remote work environment; generally no travel required.
