Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day 3x12-Hour shift (07:00 - 19:00), with weekend requirements of every other weekend.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide exceptional care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The successful candidate will provide advanced respiratory care for critically ill and medically complex newborns, utilizing sophisticated respiratory support methodologies and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage a variety of respiratory therapies including high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
• Conduct neonatal transports and manage high-risk deliveries.
• Perform arterial blood gas collection and interpretation.
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and pulmonary hygiene practices.
• Utilize equipment for various therapies, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and maintain patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute care setting; Level IV NICU experience preferred.
• Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License required at the time of submission.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT.
• MUST have experience with ventilatory support techniques, including Jet/oscillator ventilation and Nitric Oxide.
