Echo Vascular Technician

Job Description Echo/Vascular Technician – Saint Joseph Hospital, Denver, Colorado. This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac and vascular exams under the direction of a physician to identify cardiac or venous abnormalities and support patient diagnosis. The technician assists the clinical team in delivering high‑quality ultrasound examinations and ensures patient safety and comfort. Shift: Full‑time, 40 hours per week, variable schedule with 10‑hour days and rotating Saturdays. Essential Functions Demonstrate technical competence in departmental protocols. Prioritize and schedule exams, coordinating with physicians, medical staff, and patients. Prepare patients, explain procedures, and transport them as needed before performing ultrasound exams. Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout each exam, and communicate needs with the care team. Return patients to room after exams, ensuring stability and safety. Mentor junior staff and students on equipment use and procedural technique. Document exam results accurately and apply appropriate charge codes. Clean and maintain mandatory equipment, work area, and supplies; coordinate repairs if needed. Support quality improvement initiatives and team processes. Participate in continuing education to sustain clinical competence and acquire new skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. At least one year of relevant experience. Physical Requirements Ability to see, read, and interpret visual information and labels. Verbal communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues. Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and use a computer for documentation. Capacity to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment, including heavy items. Ability to walk, push, or pull gurneys and portable equipment in busy clinical areas. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods. Location & Hours Saint Joseph Hospital – Denver, Colorado. 40 weekly hours. Salary range $39.16 – $60.42 per hour, based on experience.
