Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Radiology/Cardiology is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures and imaging to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating specialized equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. The technologist must maintain certifications and provide high-quality care in an acute care hospital environment, with the ability to float to affiliated medical centers as needed. Responsibilities:

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in radiology and cardiology departments.
• Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment and ensure proper calibration and safety protocols.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established guidelines.
• Monitor patients during procedures and ensure their safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide accurate diagnostic information.
• Document procedures, patient information, and maintain accurate records using electronic charting systems.
• Participate in rotational on-call schedule including weekdays and weekends.
• Float to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro as required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work effectively in an acute care hospital setting.

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Previous experience in acute care or hospital environments.

• Rotational on-call schedule with weekday coverage from 5pm to 6am and weekend coverage from 8am to 7am.
• Weekend staffing includes one technologist in the morning shift.
• May be required to float to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro.
• Free parking provided.

• Rotational call schedule including weekday evenings and nights and weekend shifts.
• Shift times: Weekdays 5pm 6am; Weekends 8am 7am.
