JOB TITLE: REGISTERED DIETITIAN
Bienestar Human Services Inc., is unique non-profit social service organization that successfully improves the health and well-being of underserved Latino community in Southern California. BIENESTAR uses a uniquely relevant, peer-based approach, combined with 100% cultural competence and community outreach, to improve the outcome of public health. BIENESTAR networks with other social service organizations to provide a complete package of support to clients.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Linkage to Care Program Manager the dietitian assesses the dietary needs of individuals with HIV.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience of nutrition and diet planning to conduct comprehensive evaluation of individuals with HIV nutritional status and risks.
- Performs in-depth nutritional assessments for patients who are HIV positive.
- Knowledge of HIV prevention techniques and services.
- Experience working with culturally and socially diverse community groups including impacted and affected HIV individuals and groups; and the underserved.
- Schedule and provide follow up nutrition educational contacts with high-risk clients.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to individuals with HIV including the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
- Bilingual (Spanish) and/or bicultural required.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with clients, referral sources, vendors, and company personnel.
- Able to meet agency job work hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or other relevant field.
- Registered Dietitian with current licensure.
- Other duties as assigned.
HOURS: 5-8 hours per week. SALARY AND BENEFITS: $100 per hour - Commensurate with education and experience. This is a contract position.
