Our organization is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Perfusionist to become part of our team at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. We are offering a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000!

This role involves operating extra-corporeal circulation equipment during medical procedures that require artificial support or temporary replacement of circulatory or respiratory functions.

• Conduct patient assessments to prepare for procedures.
• Perform perfusion and related tasks, monitoring the patient's anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base, and blood-gas status, taking necessary actions to correct any imbalances.
• Set up and manage extracorporeal devices for temporary cardiac or pulmonary support.
• Administer medications, anesthetics, and blood products as needed during the operation of extracorporeal devices.
• Initiate and operate intra-aortic balloon pump therapy and autologous blood processing devices.
• Ensure availability of perfusion packs, equipment, and supplies for both scheduled and emergency surgeries.
• Maintain, clean, calibrate equipment, and keep adequate supplies on hand.
• Document assessments, activities, and procedures accurately.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited Perfusion Program.
• Experience: No prior experience is required.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Wisconsin Perfusionist license (required at the time of hire).
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

• Regular standing and walking.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Regular reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
• Frequent visual acuity for both near and far distances.
• Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication.
• Occasional bending, climbing, and other physical movements.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.

This position offers flexible hours, including weekend and on-call rotations. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process.
