The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intrapartum, antepartum, and OR procedures, with a passion for providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns during one of the most important moments of their lives.

Job specification

• Provide comprehensive nursing care during the labor and delivery process, including monitoring maternal and fetal well-being.
• Administer medications and assist with labor-inducing procedures and emergency interventions .
• Support patients and families with emotional and educational resources throughout the childbirth experience.
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other care providers to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centred care .
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition using critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practices .
• Assist in OR during cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures as needed.

Candidate requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications - American Heart Association (upon hire)
• NRP certification - American Academy of Pediatrics (upon hire)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of independent experience in inpatient Labor & Delivery , including intrapartum, antepartum, and OR procedures

Preferred

• National certification in Labor & Delivery or a related speciality
• Completion of AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
